Keenious raised NOK 4.6 million from Trond Riiber Knudsen, Grafo and Norinnova.

Keenious, a Tromsø, Norway-based technology startup, secured funding totalling NOK 17M ($1.9M).

The money is part equity, NOK 4.6M ($500k) provided by local investors Trond Riiber Knudsen, Grafo and Norinnova, and part grants from Innovation Norway (NOK 9.3 million paid in two installments) and from SkatteFUNN of up to 3.1 million.

Keenious, founded in 2017 by a team of 4 led by CEO Frode Opdahl, developed a software tool used by research students and which analyses writing and shows the most relevant research from millions of online publications. The solution is currently in beta, offered free of charge, and the company aims to monetise the B2B market when the full version is launched in 2021.

Keenious has previously also received support from the Research Council and the EU's Horizon 2020, totaling 1.5 million.
