Kvartal gets funded by private investors, aims to be one of the largest independent media outlet in Sweden.

Kvartal is a Stockholm, Sweden-based media coompany led by editor in chief Paulina Neuding and managed by Stiftelsen Kvartal, a foundation founded in 2015.

The foundation, which was inititated together with the local Stockholm municipality, also has private investors, who placed funds totalling SEK 15M ($1.7M). Backers include Patrik Wahlén, Jonas Engwall, Staffan Persson and Hans Bergström.
