Luna Systems, a Dublin, Ireland-based software developer for fleet positioning, announced completing a €400,000 () seed funding round.

The money was raised from local angel investors from Ireland, including the former Irish rugby captain Brian O’Driscoll and two business partners.

The funding will be used to accelerate the global roll-out of Luna Systems’ technology across a range of cities, operators and vehicle types.

Luna Systems, founded in 2019 by Ronan Furlong along with Andrew Fleury (CEO) and Phil Corrie, develops software using computer vision technology in order to accurately track light electric vehicles such as e-scooters. Using a camera equipped with AI-driven sensing technology and GPS signal processing, Luna can be used to monitor where an e-scooter is being ridden, how many pedestrians are nearby, if it has been parked correctly, or if the rider is wearing a helmet.
