Naava, a Jyväskylä, Finland-based manufacturer of smart air-purifying furniture green walls, announced closing a €7 million ($7.9M) in equity fundraising.

The money was raised from investors led by Nidoco and joined by Tesi, Butterfly Ventures, and the Hammaren family, as well as by angel investors including Mika Ihamuotila, Mikael Hed, Benoit Wiesser, Antero Vartia and Teemu Päivinen.

The proceeds will be used as the company plans to scale the current N-series offering by investing in marketing and sales channels as well as expansion in Europe and North America, while strengthening its presence in the Middle East.

Naava, founded in 2011 by Aki Soudunsaari and Niko Järvinen, offers a combination of physical products (hardware), technology/Naava OS (software) and on-location service. The most bought solution package is called “Nature as a Service, or NaaS” and includes multiple furniture green walls (hardware) and a monthly fee for the Naava OS (software) and Naava Service for maintaining the Naavas.

Naava previously raised around $10 million, with a last round closed at the end of 2018.
