Oura completed a $28 million Series B funding from Forerunner Ventures, Gradient Ventures and Square.
Oura, an Oulu, Finland-based health startup operating a business based on a wellness-tracking ring and app, announced the completion of series B capital investment round totalling $28M.
The money was provided by US-based investors, including Forerunner Ventures, Gradient Ventures and payment company Square.
At the same time, American neuroscientist Matthew Walker will be joining the company as Chief Science Advisor.
Oura, founded in 2013 by Kari Kivelä and Petteri Lahtela and led by CEO Harpreet Singh Rai, developed a business based on a smart ring and app delivering insights to inform sleep and health habits, giving users daily feedback to improve their health and to better understand their bodies.
Oura has sold 150,000 rings to date and has raised about $20M in capital funding.
