Oxbury bank to raise £15 million from the Wheatsheaf Group

Oxbury, a Chester (Liverpool), UK-based startup providing banking services for agriculture companies, announced that it completed a funding round of £15 million ($20.2M).

The money was raised from investors led by the Duke of Westminster's Wheatsheaf Group, with further participation from founding investors including crop protection group Hutchinsons and grain supplier Frontier Agriculture.

Oxbury Bank, founded in 2018 by CEO James Farrar, who also set up ClearBank in 2015, is building a bank that provides farmers with the specialized lending they need to run their farms. The company received its banking licence in February 2020 and previously raised another £15 million since 2018.
