Passionfruit in a $3.6 million seed funding round co-led by firstminute Capital and Playfair.
Passionfruit, a London, UK-based software startup developing a gig marketplace for GenZ, announced closing a seed round at $3.6 million.
The money was raised from investors co-led by firstminute Capital and Playfair, and joined by FJ Labs, Portfolio Ventures, as well as undisclosed scouts from Atomico, Accel and Notion, together with professional angel investors Mandeep Singh (Trouva) and Xav Collins (Turo).
The proceeds will be used to expand the product offering, and its commercial reach across Europe and North America.
Passionfruit, founded in 2021 by Raffi Salama, and Issah Abdul-Moomin, developed a freelancer platform startup that match marketing specialists with gigs. The platform enables users to manage their business with a full suite of needs with access to work, financial tooling and community-led upskilling, with an initial focus on marketing specialists. The company says it plans to roll its platform out to adjacent careers such as product managers, management consultants and financial consultants.
Prior to this deal, Passionfruit was pre-seeded with $700k by Playfair Capital at the end of 2021.
