Playtomic, a Madrid, Spain-based company operating a marketplace for booking sports facilities, announced getting into an agreement for the acquisition of US-based Playven, a CRM developer for sports arenas.

The financial details of the transaction remained undisclosed.

In conjunction with the acquisition, the company announced that Henrik Persson Ekdahl (Optimizer Invest), and Per Roman (GP Bullhound) will join as board members.

Playven is based in Silicon Valley and was founded by two Finnish entrepreneurs (Topias Soininen) who aimed to build a tennis and paddle courts marketplace app and club management tool. Its investors list includes the former ATP tennis player Jarkko Nieminen

Playtomic, founded in 2015 and led by CEO Pedro Claveria, developed a social network helping people make sports reservations in Spain. The company works with clubs and sport facility managers helping them with the booking process.

Playtomic raised about $10 million in capital funding since its start and is backed by Swedish venture investors GP Bullhound, Optimizer Invest and angels Magnus Gottås and Félix Ruiz.
