Portchain secures EUR2.5 million in capital investment
Portchain, a Copenhagen-based software company building planning tools for container carriers and terminals, announced that it received EUR2.5 million ($2.8M) in funding.
The investment was provided by angel investors from Denmark.
Portchain, founded in 2017 by CEO Niels Kristiansen, Anders Olivarius and Thor Thorup, is working with several of the largest operators in the industry as it sells planning solutions aimed to maximize utilization and capacity for terminals and carriers.
Prior to this private investment, the company raised almost as much from public sources, including the Danish Maritime Fund, the Innovation Fund, EU's Horizon 2020 program.
