Sherpa announced raising $8.5 million from Mundi Ventures, Ekarpen and angel investors.
Sherpa, a Bilbao, Spain-based software developer of a voice-based digital assistant for Spanish-speaking audiences, announced the completion of a $8.5 million funding round.
The money was raised from investors from Spain, including Mundi Ventures, Ekarpen and angel investors Marcelo Gigliani and Alex Cruz. This the second extension of its series A announced in 2018 and in 2019, bringing the total money raised to $23.5 million.
Sherpa.ai, founded in 2012 and led by CEO Xabi Uribe-Etxebarria, developed a digital assistant technology based on AI algorithms with conversational and predictive abilities that allow the assistant to learn about the users and anticipate their needs before they ask. The platform is sold as a white label solution to be incorporated into other applications with business cases in healthcare and telecom.
