Simple Feast raised $33M, wants to expand in USA.

Simple Feast, a Copenhagen-Denmark-based company operating a ready-to-eat meal delivery service, announced that it completed a DKK 225M ($33M) capital investment round.

The funding was provided by existing investors, including Balderton Capital, Sweet Capital and Byfounders, and will be used for preparing the company's efforts to become operational in the United States.

Simple Feast, founded at the end of 2014 by CEO Jakob Jønck Nordenhof and Thomas Stilling Ambus, built a business on a subscription-based delivery service for ready-made food. The food is organic, plant-based and is delivered weekly as boxes of ready-to-eat meals to customers from Denmark and Sweden.

Prior to this capital raise announcement, Simple Feast raised $12M in a series A investment funding led by Balderton Capital.
