Sqore, a Sweden-based competitions platform startup, raised SEK 30M ($3.36M) in fresh private equity investment.

The backers include existing investors, namely Swedish private investor Mats Gabrielsson and VC house Northzone, and funds are aimed to both help internationalization and further development of the platform.

Sqore, founded in Stockholm in 2008 and led by CEO Niklas Jungegård, provides a platform for certifying knowledge through competitions. As such, the company acts as a connector of people to educational and career opportunities through skill-based competitions.

In 2015, Sqore had about half a million users, SEK 27M ($3M) in sales and lost about SEK 6M ($700k). Sqore raised another SEK 30M in February 2015 from Northzone.
