Stilla raised $1M for a pocket-sized alarm system

Stilla, a Swedish-founded, San Francisco-based alarm system manufacturer raised approximately $1M in seed money. Backers include a range of Swedish investors, such as Thomas Ekman, Pernilla Ekman, Johanna Wollert Melin, Gunvor Engström or Mattias Weinhandl.

Stilla, founded in 2014 by Elin Elkehag, has developed a pocket-sized security system that stays connected to a smartphone or smartwatch. The product was launched in 2016, when the company also raised about $75k on an IndieGoGo campaign. Stilla intends to test the sales process in Sweden, while focusing on the US as its core market.
