Sumpli raises investment from Wave Ventures and Maki VC.

Sumpli, a Helsinki, Finland-basd startup managing a mobile app dedicated for recruiting in the hospitality industry, announced raising EUR 550k ($676k) in capital investment.

The backers include Wave Ventures and Maki VC.

Sumpli, founded in 2017 and led by Elias Nygren (CEO), developed a mobile app that acts as a a digital matchmaking platform for hiring in the hospitality business, so that restaurants and other clients can cope with the huge variance in the required amount of gig staff.

The app provides on-demand staffing services, as well as instant payroll services and transparent payments and has around 100 business customers.

In Finland only the service sector wages amount up to 2,3B€ in total, and 30 to 50% of the personnel gaining these salaries are the exact temporary gig workers the solution is aimed at attracting.
