Surgify to raise €1.4 million from Innovestor Ventures, and angel investors Peter Lindell and Leena Niemistö.

Surgify Medical Oy, an Espoo, Finland-based produced of safer surgical technology, announced the completion of a €1.4 million ($1.7M) funding round.

The money was raised from investors including Innovestor Ventures, and angel investors Peter Lindell and Leena Niemistö. The funding will be used to bring Surgify’s safer surgical drill to market.

Surgify Medical, founded in 2017 as a research project at Aalto University and led by CEO Visa Sippola, produces a surgical drill that aims to make bone surgery safer and connected to existing surgical drills. In addition to performing various surgical procedures in the head, neck, and spine areas, the technology can be used in dental procedures, as well as surgical robotics.

Surgify previously raised about $1.3 million from investors including Wave Ventures, Cascara Ventures, Butterfly Ventures, FRIIH GmBH and Merkatura.
