Swarm64 secures $12.5M in Series B financing round led by Intel Capital and Investinor.

Swarm64, an Oslo, Norway-based company providing real-time analytics for high velocity and big data, announced raising $12.5M in a Series B investment round.

Backers include Intel Capital and Investinor, which led the funding round, as well as Alliance Venture and Target Partners.

The funding will be used to strengthen Swarm64’s position as a global leader in FPGA based accelerators for relational databases.

Swarm64, founded in 2013 by Alfonso Martinez, Eivind Liland and Thomas Richter and led by CEO Karsten Rönner, provides the Scalable Data Accelerator that enables relational databases to perform real-time analytics for high velocity and big data. Swarm64’s team is world-class in FPGA design and the development of real-time database software.

Besides Oslo, the company has offices in Berlin, Germany.

Swarm64 has raised more than $8M prior to this transaction, from investors including Alliance Venture, Arne Graee, Investinor, Springfondet and Target Partners.
