Thursday, a London, UK-based startup building a dating mobile application, announced raising £2.5 million ($3.5M) in a seed funding round.
The money was raised from investors including Ascension Ventures, Best Nights VC and Connect Ventures, joined by CityMapper, TypeForm and FIIT (via SeedLegals). The round included contributions from angel investors Tom Blomfield, founder of Monzo; Matt Robinson, founder of GoCardless and Nested; Ian Hogarth, founder of Songkick; Eldar Tuvey, founder of Wandera and Henry de Zoute, founder of LookAfterMyBills.
Thursday, founded as Honeypot in 2018 by CEO George Rawlings, developed a mobile app that can be used only on Thursdays for finding dating partners. The app is available in London and New York and has around 50k downloads.
