Unikum announced a $2M investment round from JCE Investments.

Unikum, a Stcokholm, Sweden-based developer of SAAS solutions for educational portals, announced the completion of a SEK 20M ($2M) capital investment round.

The funding was provided by local investors led by Gothenburg-based JCE Investments and will be used to fuel the company's ambitions to expand outside Sweden. Founder Jonas Ryberg remains as principal owner and CEO.

Unikum, founded in 2005, built a subscription-based software service with access to a proprietary sharing platform called Skolbanken. The company claims to have 750,000 active users from over 4,000 schools from Sweden, as well as pilot customers in Finland, Norway and Germany. In 2018 Unikum had a turnover of SEK 32 million ($3.2M)
