Unity Technologies acquired the Spanish software company Codice.

Unity Technologies, a Danish company based in San Francisco, announced that it acquired Codice, a Spanish software company. FInancial details of the deal remained undisclosed.

The deal expands Unity's the toolkit for game developers who use its graphics platform, as the company acquired Codice for its Plastic SCM offering, which acts as a conduit between game developers and artists who can develop new features in parallel. Terms were not disclosed.

Plastic SCM customers include Nike, Aptiv, Unknown Worlds and others. The technology allows teams to build games under complex, code-heavy loads at scale.

Codice, founded in 2005, has 19 employees who will remain in Parque Tecnológico de Boecillo, near Valladolid, Spain. The company was privately-owned and backed by Bullnet Capital, a venture capital firm based in Spain, focused on high-tech projects.
