Vaaka Partners purchases Unisport from Priveq Investment, merges it with synthetic grass specialist Saltex Oy.
Unisport Scandinavia AB, a Landskrona, Sweden-based sports company announced that its seven-year long investor, Priveq Investment, along with the other owners, has entered into an agreement to divest the company to the Finnish investor Vaaka Partners.
Under the deal, Unisport will merge with synthetic grass specialist Saltex Oy and will move its headquarter in Helsinki, Finland.
Unisport, founded in 1983 and led by CEO Joachim Gabrielsson, operates in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. The company markets and sells sports flooring, synthetic grass for football, golf and landscaping, and it has a wide range of spectator seating and foldable tribunes for sports facilities. The product range also includes flooring for tennis and padel and floor coverings for local sports facilities.
The company has almost SEK 500M ($65M) in turover coupled with industry-leading profitability. Over time, the company has strengthened its position as Scandinavia’s leading sports floor specialist while also establishing several new product areas such as spectator seating and fitness center floors. This expansion took place both organically and through acquisitions such as the acquisition of the Norwegian company Scansis.
