Verdane buys 50% of Desenio, a Swedish online art seller.

Desenio, a Stockholm-based online marketplace for selling posters and art, sold 50% of the company to VC Verdane Capital. The transaction value remains undisclosed and, previously to this deal, Desenio was owned by Helena and Martin Blomqvist, a couple who founded the company in 2009.

According to Henrik Aspen from Verdane Capital, after acquiring the 50% shareholding position, the VCs want to further help the company grow and take the business to the next level.

In 2016, Desenio recorded sales of about SEK 90M ($10M), a 300% yoy increase from 2015, when it had SEK 31.5M.
