Verdane invests in Mustad and Sunkost.

O. Mustad & Søn AS, a Gjøvik, Norway-based company that manufactures and sells fishing tackle and accessories, received an undisclosed amount of investment from Verdane.

Through the transaction, made by the fund Verdane Capital IX, the private equity fund becomes the majority owner in O. Mustad & Søn AS.

O. Mustad & Søn AS, led by CEO John Are Lindstad, was founded in 1877 and manufactures a wide range of fishing accessories. The company produces over 1.5 billion hooks per year for recreational and commercial use, has 460 employees, and revenues of NOK 312M ($37M) in 2016.

At the same time, Verdane also bought the majority package in Sunkost AS.

Sunkost, led by CEO Leif Terje Hansen, is Norway’s biggest health food chain and the leader in its field, with more than 500 shop assistants and 122 stores throughout the country.
