Vidispine gets acquired by Bertelsmann family as part of the Arvato Systems group.
Vidispine, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company providing SAAS media asset management, announced getting into an agreement for selling the company to Arvato Systems group.
The transaction, signed on November 1, 2017 for 100% of the shares and undisclosed financial details, is strengthening the link in both companies portfolios which will be working together to achieve further growth, addressing the explosion in video content and growth of cloud-based solutions for media.
Vidispine, founded in 2009 by CEO Erik Åhlin and CTO Isak Jonsson, develops and distributes solutions for the management of digital content, primarily videos, and supports both companies from the media sector as well as well-known customers from other industries. In the new Arvato Systems Group shareholder structure, the two founders will continue in their previous roles at Vidispine.
Arvato Systems, led by CEO Ralf Schürmann and part of Bertelsmann Group, develops IT solutions, bringing customers into the cloud, integrate digital processes, while taking on the operation and support of IT systems.The company has more than 3,000 employees in over 25 locations worldwide.
