Voliro secured a CHF 2M capital round led Alpana Ventures, with participation from BackBone Ventures, Zürcher Kantonalbank, and a group of Swiss angel investors.

Voliro AG, a Zurich, Switzerland-based manufacturer of advanced flying inspection robots, announced closing a CHF 2M ($2.2M) capital investment round.

The money was raised from investors led by Alpana Ventures, with participation from BackBone Ventures, Zürcher Kantonalbank, and a group of Swiss angel investors whose name was not disclosed.

Proceeds will be used to accelerate the development of the company's industrial grade flying inspection robots.

Voliro AG, founded in 2019 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich by CEO Mina Kamel and Timo Müller, produces advanced flying inspection robots for safe and efficient work at height. The robots are capable of performing in-depth structural integrity assessments using advanced inspection technologies. This minimizes human operators’ exposure to hazardous environments while ensuring high quality inspection data.

Voliro is currently accelerated at Wyss Zurich and has previously received funding from Krypto Lab, Venture Kick and ESA BIC Switzerland.
