War on cancer raised SEK 22 million in a round backed by 82: an Invest and angel investors from Sweden.

War on cancer, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup building a business based on a mobile social network for people with cancer, announced that it raised a funding round of SEK 22M ($2.6M).

The money was raised from a range of local investors based in Sweden, including 82an Invest and angel investors Klas Tikkanen, Jesper Söderberg, Michael Wolf and Johan Andersson.

WarOnCancer, founded in 2017 by Sebastian Hermelin and Fabian Bolin (CEO), started in 2015 as a blog on and about cancer patients and gradually was transformed into a mobile social network used to connect patients, survivors and loved ones. The app has users from 20 countries that cover more than 35 different types of cancer, and can also provide support to relatives.

WarOnCancer previously raised almost $1M in 2019.
