WARM (World Airplay Radio Monitor) has raised €1.25 million from Sony.
WARM (World Airplay Radio Monitor), a Copenhagen, Denmark-based music tech startup, announced that it raised €1.25 million ($1.4M) in a seed investment round.
The funding comes from existing investors and from Sony after participating in the acceleration program hosted by Sony Startup Acceleration Program Europe. Money will be used to expand into North America, with the larger aim being to enhance the accuracy and transparency of foreign airplay data.
WARM, founded in 2016 by CEO Jesper Skibsby, uses audio fingerprinting and music recognition technology to detect and identify when songs are played on radio anywhere in the world. This tracking service currently covers about 100 countries. In turn, artists and industry professionals can access real-time airplay data from approximately 28,000 radio stations.
