Whimsical raised $30 million in a round led by Accel and joined by Basis Set Ventures

Whimsical, a Denver, USA and Riga, Latvia-based software company developing light wireframing solutions, announced the completion of a $30 million funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by Accel and joined by Basis Set Ventures, and angels Nat Friedman (GitHub’s CEO), Erica Brescia (Github's COO), Will Gaybrick (Stripe’s CPO).

Whimsical, founded in 2017 by Kaspars Dancis and Steve Schoeffel, developed a software frameork used for capturing, shaping, and sharing ideas for the new workforce and for conveying ideas effectively via flowcharts, wireframes, mind maps, sticky notes, and documents.

The company is operated from the US out of Denver, Colorado, with customers including Twilio, Netflix, Intercom, Shopify.
