Yotribe, a Berlin, Germany-based startup operating a video-based social network, completed a capital investment round.

The money was provided by the German investor Blueyard Capital. Post transaction the investor will control 16% of the company's equity.

Yotribe, founded in 2020 by Leonard Witteler, Stephane Roux and Pascal Steck, developed a video platform aimed to be a virtual event space where people can move around and chat spontaneously.

The idea emerged during the Corona confinement, as the tool is suitable for forming smaller subgroups at larger meetings, but also for speaking privately after work or during breaks. Once the people join a videoconference starts - this allows them to organically form little groups and mingle.

Yotribe is still in beta and claims to have about 10,000 active users and organisations including universities like Oxford, Harvard as well as startups, schools and churches.

Later edit: the company announced changing its name in Wonder.

Total investments received (USD): 12.2M
