The most promising venture investments made in Nordic companies this summer - a top 30 list.

As we're getting back from the holidays and start prepping for the second part of 2020, we thought you would like to have on overview that catches you up to speed with the summer's dealflow.

As such we screened through more than 150 deals we tracked in the Nordic countries for the past months and assembled a list of notable 30 of them.


 Swappie closed €35.8 million in a series B round backed by Tesi, Lifeline Ventures, Reaktor Ventures and Inventure.

Swappie, founded in 2016 by Sami Marttinen (CEO) and Jiri Heinonen, built a digital marketplace for refurbished consumer electronics. Prior to this deal, the company raised $6M


 Podimo completes a €15 million round led by 83North and including Heartcore and

Podimo, founded in 2018 by CEO Morten Strunge, Nikolaj Koppel, Andreas Sachse and Sverre Dueholm, developed a podcast and short-form audio platform that offers personalised recommendations for users against a paid subscription. Prior to this, Podimo raised $7M.


 Siren raised $11.8 million from Anathem Ventures, DCM, Khosla Ventures, 500 Startups, and Founders Fund.

Siren Care, founded in 2015 by Henk Jan Scholten, Jie Fu and Ran Ma (CEO), produces smart, washable fabric wearables — the first of which is a pair of socks meant to help those with diabetes monitor their foot health and detect dangerous injuries early.


 Pickatale secured NOK 120 million from Investinor, MP Pensjon and angel investors Reynir Indahl and Christian Sindig

Pickatale, founded as Wisdom Edition in 2013 and led by CEO Espen Viskjer, has developed a language learning platform based on game technology and a rich content library.


 Capturi announced closing an extended round of €11.6M

Capturi, founded in 2019 and led by CEO Tue Martin Berg, developed a software solution helping companies identify good selling points to customers via sentiment analysis.


 Traplight announced raising €8 million from EQT Ventures with participation from Play Ventures, Initial Capital and Heartcore Capital

Traplight, founded in 2010 by Sami Kalliokoski, Jari Paananen and Riku Rakkola, is a mobile game studio that builds mid-core games, having recently launched Battle Legion, a mobile mass battle multiplayer spectator game. Prior to this, Traplight raised almost $4M.
