Apicbase in a €4 million Series A round backed by Volta Ventures, Newion, AAA Fund and angel investors.

Apicbase, an Antwerp, Belgium-based SAAS developer of a restaurant management solution, announced completing a €4 million ($4.9M) Series A funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by Belgium-based VC Volta Ventures, joined by existing shareholders from Newion and AAA Fund. Proceeds will be used as the company eyes expansion plans.

Apicbase, founded in 2017 by Carl Jacobs, Julien Burlat, Kim Rothuys, and Pieter Wellens, developed a cloud-based food management software designed to efficiently manage the backend kitchen operations.

The tool centralises a wide range of kitchen processes, automated calculations, predictive purchasing, and analytics, as it aims to become a single management source for a Food and Beverage business operation. The service also integrates with other operational requirements including point-of-sale systems, accounting packages, and payroll. Customers include  La Place, Be Burger, Sodexo, Not So Dark, Citizen M hotels and Tastyoo.

Apicbase previously raised about $2.5 million.
