Authada GmbH, a Darmstadt, Germany-based developer of mobile identification services intended to verify existing or potential customers, announced getting into a strategic partnership with the Italians from InfoCert, a subsidiary of the Tinexta Group.

The deal involves an equity component, whereas Infocert invests capital for getting a 16.7% stake in the company. Existing investors are also contributing to the capital raise round.

Other details includes the expansion of InfoCert's presence to the strategic DACH area, the joint project to create a European Champion of Digital Trust Services and options that, under certain conditions, enable InfoCert to take over 100 percent of Authada.

Authada, founded in 2015 by Andreas Plies (CEO) and Jörg Jessen, is a provider of cutting-edge technology for identification solutions, active in the finance, telecommunications and sports betting market. The company works with customers such as Vodafone, Comdirect (Commerzbank Group) and the Sparkassenfinanzgruppe - and is currently expanding into the areas of insurance, eCommerce and eHealth.

Prior to this deal, Authada raised money from FinLab AG, a listed investment company, and Main Incubator GmbH, early-stage investor and research and development unit of the Commerzbank Group.
