Dagens Media purchases Medievärlden, a local media magazine.
Dagens Media, a Stockholm, Sweden-based media publication which is owned by the Finnish media group Alma Media, announced the acquisition of the local media magazine Medievärlden. The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
Medievärlden, founded in 1928 under the name Pressens Tidining as a print magazine covering the media industry, became a web-only media property in 2009.
The company behind it is owned by its employees, namely Axel Andén (publisher), Mikael Marklund, Lisa Bjurwald and Linnea Kihlström and has successfully built a digital payment service - Medievärlden Premium, which monitors the Nordic media industry, in addition to a news site and a daily newsletter. Axel Andén will continue to be responsible publisher for Medievärlden's sites.
