Dimension 10, an Oslo, Norway-based startup developing a VR framework solution, announced that it was acquired by the Helsinki-based VR software company Varjo.
Financial details of the transaction remained undisclosed.
Dimension10, founded in 2014 by Aleksander Langmyhr and Christer-André Fagerslett, develops software that makes it easy to load 3D models into a virtual meeting room, where the meeting participants can then interact with the same model. The Dimension10 virtual meeting suite is designed for architecture, engineering, and construction teams.
Dimension10 raised about $2 million from investors including Boost VC, Investinor, Sagene Tech Ventures and Trond Riiber Knudsen.
Varjo, founded in 2015 by Urho Konttori and led by CEO Timo Toikkanen, manufactures human-eye resolution virtual and mixed reality devices used for enterprise training and simulation applications, design and engineering and research. The company's customers include names such as Volvo Cars, Boeing, Audi and Siemens and financial investors include Tesi, NordicNinja, Swisscanto Invest by Zürcher Kantonalbank, Lifeline Ventures, Atomico, EQT Ventures and Volvo Cars Tech Fund.
Varjo raised $54 million in 2020 out of a total of roughly 100 million.
