Fever, a Madrid, Spain based startup operating an event discovery and booking app for iOS and Android, announced that secured $3 million in seed funding.

The money was provided by a range of Spanish and international angel investors, including Jeff Pulver, an early investor in Twitter and Foursquare); Bernardo Hernandez, the CEO of Flickr; Gary Shainberg; soccer player Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid; and musician Alejandro Sanz.

Fever, founded in 2011 in Barcelona by Pep Gomez, hopes to differentiate by including recommendations from influencers, or people who have already committed to an event by purchasing a ticket or announcing their plans to attend it with an update. The app’s recommendation engine also looks at each user’s top three interests, their activity, and interactions with other Fever users. Bookings can be made through the app with a credit card or users can RSVP to hold tickets.

Total investments received (USD): 288.3M
