ID5 announced raising $6m in a round led by Progress Ventures and joined by 360 Capital Partners.

ID5, a Paris, France and London, UK-based software startup working on an Universal ID service solution as an alternative to Google, Facebook and Apple, announced the completion of a $6 million capital funding round.

The money was raised mainly from investors from France and US, including Alliance Entreprendre, Progress Ventures and 360 Capital Partners.

ID5, founded in 2017 by CEO Mathieu Roche, Pierre-Antoine Durgeat and Scott Menzer, is developing a proprietary ID matching infrastructure as an alternative to Google, Facebook and Apple, and aimed to help publishers with a way to improve their user identification capabilities in an efficient, scalable and privacy-compliant way.

The company says that its identification infrastructure supports media owners and respects users’ privacy choices, as it has been adopted by hundreds of publishers and ad tech platforms globally, enabling ID5 to boost its global reach to over 600 million consumers daily.

ID5 previously raised €1M from 360 Capital Partners and MathCapital in 2018.
