Industri Udvikling buys 40% of Maki, a distributor of toys, games and baby products in the Nordic region.
Maki A/S, an Aarhus, Denmark-based distributor of toys, games and baby equipment in the Nordic region, announced getting into an agreement with the Danish private equity company Industri Udvikling for selling 40% of the shares of the company.
The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed. Niels Dahl-Nielsen will continue as co-owner, board member and as an executive advisor to the new CEO, while CCO Michael Jensen will take on the role as CEO going forward.
The background for the transaction is, on the one hand, a wish by Niels Dahl-Nielsen to get an experienced partner in the further development of the business, and, on the other, to transfer the director role to Michael Jensen as well as to part-capitalizing on the results achieved.
In the coming years, it is the ambition to further expand the Nordic region, including through the supply of several new brands in both existing and new product categories.
Maki A/S, founded in 1995, has built its success on local presence and years of experience in the sourcing and marketing of toys and baby product brands. The company has a portfolio of international brands and proprietary products, and supplies more than 1,500 customers, with approximately 5,000 Point of Sales (POS) across the Nordic region.
