Nordetect announced raising €1.2M in a seed round led by Luminate NY with Rockstart, SOSV, PreSeed Ventures, Vækstfonden as co-investors
Nordetect, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based developer of a technology chemistry platform for farmers, agronomists and indoor growers, announced completing a €1.2M ($1.4M) seed funding round.
The money was raised from investors led by Luminate NY with Rockstart, SOSV, PreSeed Ventures, Vækstfonden as co-investors.
Nordetect, founded in 2016 and led by CEO Keenan Pinto, helps farmers, agronomists and indoor growers optimize the fertilizer usage on their fields through a product that delivers immediate in-field results for chemical analysis. The product uses Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Kalium (or NPK) via nanosensors covering all nutrient types and test soil, leaf samples, manure, water and other organic materials.
Vertical farms and other high tech indoor farms use this data to increase their yield per square foot and supply more locally. The process of collecting and testing soil and water samples is a time consuming process ranging from 3 days to 3 weeks. The one-click device and test kits from Nordetect can test multiple nutrients simultaneously and in a matter of minutes.
