Nordsense secured DKK 54M from ACME Capital and Vækstfonden
Nordsense, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based provider of smart waste management solutions, announced the completion of a DKK 54M ($8.5M) in additional funding.
The investment was co-led by U.S. venture firm ACME Capital and The Danish Growth Fund (Vækstfonden).
Capital from the round will be used for global expansion of Nordsense’s intelligent waste management system, which aims to clean up the waste sector by eliminating thousands of tons of CO2 vehicle emissions and deploying smart containers that monitor levels for more precise collection times to avoid unattractive, overflowing bins with long wait times for pick-up.
Nordsense, founded in 2015 by CEO Søren Christensen and Manuel Maestrini, developed a smarter waste management system that provides a better working environment, less waste and pollution and contributes positively to the climate accounts by creating a more efficient waste sector. The IoT product is an end to end solution that optimizes waste collection processes by monitoring container levels, applying advanced data analytics and delivering a dynamic and event driven turn-by-turn navigation for waste vehicles.
Prior to this round, Nordsense secured $2.1M in 2017.
