OnRobot announced $27.5M in capital funding backed by Vækstfonden and the European Investment Bank.
OnRobot, an Odense, Denmark-based robotics manufacturer, announced that it completed a DKK 185M ($27.5M) capital investment round.
The funding is a combination of grants and equity provided by the European Investment Bank and, respectively, Vækstfonden together with a group of family investment offices from Denmark: the Gundersen, the Bøgh-Sørensen, the Bonnesen and the Sandal. Nicolai Fink Gundersen will join the Board of Directors on behalf of the new investors.
OnRobot was founded in 2015 in Odense under the management of Enrico Krog Iversen as the robotic arms solution provider for Universal Robots, and now aims to create a one-stop-shop for advanced collaborative applications with true plug & play functionality.
The company merged with Perception Robotics and OptoForce in 2018, followed by an acquisition of Purple Robotics a few months later and purchasing of Blue Workforce in 2019. The company currently has approximately 180 employees, sales offices in eight countries and more than 380 distributors globally.
