Smitten announced raising a $2.7m seed round led by byFounders.
Smitten, a Reykjavik, Iceland-based startup buidling a mobile dating application, announced the completion of a $2.7 million seed funding round.
The money was raised from a range of investors led by Denmark's VC byFounders, with participation from PROfounders, Inventures, Brunnur Ventures, Tiny.vc and un-named angel investors.
In conjunction with the funding round, Vivino founder Heini Zachariassen, representing byFounders and PROfounders’s Joe Bond will join the board.
Smitten, founded in 2018 by CEO David Simonarson and Asgeir Visir, developed a dating social network available as a mobile app.
The app was used on a 25k people pilot in Iceland that indicated 50% conversion rates from match-to-conversation. The funding will be used for making Smitten available in other Nordic countries.
