Strafe, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company operating an esports companion app for the fans, announced in a press release that it raised $3 million in seed funding.

The funding was supported by the German esports investment company, BITKRAFT Esports Ventures, and will be used for the further development of Strafe's database and esports audience hub, as well as for continued user acquisition.

Strafe, founded in 2014 and led by CEO Einar Ahlström, built a mobile app available for esports fans as a companion providing access to an esports database, tournament coverage, real-time updates of matches, and social betting.

The company currently covers eight games, including League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Dota 2, and features 2,600 teams and 12,000 players in its database. The app also includes a social betting mechanic that allows users to earn points and compete for leaderboard placement by choosing winners for esports matches.

Prior to this deal, Strafe secured $2.7M in capital investment from investors including Glenstorm Invest AB and Zenith Ventures.
