TrueLayer Limited, a London, UK-based SAAS operator of a platform used to build financial apps connected to bank data, announced securing a $70 million series D funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by Addition, founded by Lee Fixel, joined by new investors such as Visionaries Club, Surojit Chatterjee (CPO Coinbase), Zack Kanter (CEO Stedi), Daniel Graf (ex-Uber, Google, Twitter) and David Avgi (ex-CEO SafeCharge, CEO UniPaaS).

Major existing investors Anthemis Group, Connect Ventures, Mouro Capital, Northzone, and Temasek also contributed to the round.

TrueLayer, founded in 2016 by Francesco Simoneschi (CEO) and Luca Martinetti, makes it easy to integrate financial services like open banking into any app or website, anywhere in the world.

The company says it has more than 3 million users in the UK, as it processes more than half of the open banking volume in the UK, Ireland and Spain, with expansion across 12 markets over the past 12 months.

TrueLayer previously announced a $25 million funding round in September 2020.
