Verdane acquires Max Manus and Conscriptor, merge them into a healthcare technology group specialised in medical transcription services and speech recognition.
Verdane, an Oslo, Norway-based private institutional investors, announced getting into an agreement for the acquisition of Conscriptor, a Henån, Sweden-based developed or SAAS for medical journal management and of Max Manus, an Oslo, Norway-based provider of speech recognition for the health sector.
Financial details of the transactions were not disclosed. The investment is made by Verdane’s SEK 3bn Edda fund.
The companies will be merged to form a SEK 250M ($25M) Nordic healthcare technology group specialised in medical transcription services and speech recognition.
Both Max Manus and Conscriptor assist doctors and nurses in writing patient notes.
Conscriptor, led by CEO Henric Carlsson, is Sweden’s largest developer of medical journal documentation services and dictation software for hospitals and health centres, with a flagship product MedSpeech, a medical dictation app.
Max Manus, led by CEO Martin Elster, has developed a speech recognition program that doctors and nurses can use to turn dictated notes into text. The company’s products are used by customers from the private and public sector.
