WarOnCancer, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company operating a social network for people with cancer, completed a SEK 9M ($940k) capital investment round.

The backing was provided by a range of Swedish investors including 41an Invest and angel investor Daniel Pilotti. The funding will be used to further develop the platform, hire more people and fuel the international ambitions of the company.

WarOnCancer AB, founded in 2017 by Sebastian Hermelin and Fabian Bolin (CEO), started in 2015 as a blog on and about cancer patients and gradually was transformed into a mobile social network used to connect patients, survivors and loved ones.
