Wooptix secures US$3.3 million in Series-A funding

Wooptix, a Tenerife, Spain-based advanced imaging software developer, announced a Series A funding of US$3.3 million.

The investment round was led by the Spanish VC Bullnet Capital and Intel Capital along with the participation of Spain’s Caixa Capital Risc, the venture capital division of “la Caixa”, this round will help Wooptix to tailor their imaging technology for different platforms.

Erik Jorgensen, director at Intel Capital and Javier Ulecia, partner at Bullnet Capital, will join Javier Párraga and Javier Elizalde (co-founders) on the company´s Board.

Wooptix, founded in 2014 as a spin-off company from Universidad de La Laguna and led by CEO Javier Párraga, developed a software solution caalled Natural3D, providing advanced imaging capabilities for smartphones and other devices at full resolution. The technology has broad applications, from 3D acquisition using a single camera of a mobile phone to high precision measurements for industrial purposes using portable devices. Natural3D technology can be implemented for both photo and video acquisition using a single camera with standard optics.
