Code BGP, a Crete, Greece-based software startup, announced the completion of a €1.2 million ($1.4M) seed funding round.

The money was raised from the local VC from Greece, Marathon Venture Capital.

Cod BGP, founded in 2021 by CEO Xenofontas Dimitropoulos (“Fontas”), Vasileios Kotronis, and Lefteris Manassaki, is building a business around their BGP expertise - the inter-domain routing protocol of the Internet, which is also known as the “glue” that holds the Internet together.

As such, the company provides a cloud-based platform that automatically creates and maintains an inventory of the announced IP address prefixes, AS numbers, peerings, and outbound policies of an organization via configured sources, like BGP feeds. Then, it exposes this inventory in real-time through an open data-driven API - the Code BGP Platform - which also provides services that consume the real-time inventory data and address specific monitoring problems, namely the Security and the Verification services.
