Flexound raises EUR 900k

Flexound, an Espoo, FInland startup that manufactures customized pillows, raised EUR 900k ($960k) in outside financing from a range of local and international investors. The money will be used for further boost the growth of the company

The investment comes before Flexound will start an Indiegogo campaign for a new prodiuct, HUMU, which is a smart cushion that lets users hear audio and feel sound waves from a wireless connected mobile device.

Flexound, led by CEO Mervi Heinaro, was started from an instrument that transformed plain music into a combination of high-quality sound and distributed vibration. Meant first to be a therapy tool for children only, the team quickly realized that this innovative combination has comercial value, and started manufacturing pillows and other objects integrating sound and feel experiences.
