incident.io, a Berlin, Germany-based developer of a SAAS used for reporting and managing incidents across companies, announced closing a $28.7 million funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by Index Ventures, joined by existing shareholders Point Nine Capital, new backer Chainsmoker’s Mantis VC, as well as angel investors Mike Krieger (Instagram co-founder) and Lachy Groom.

Proceeds will be used to expand business in the United States, as the company intends to open a New York office.

incident.io, founded in 2021 by Christopher Evans, Pete Hamilton and Stephen Whitworth and run as Pineapple Technology Ltd, developed a cloud-based security and information management systems that members of an incident response team can use to coordinate their work. The tool is used to monitor and manage incidents, and was developed on top of Slack as a bot aggregating in a central dashboard the reporting and managing incidents across companies. Additionally, Incident.io generates a summary of the issue that helps workers quickly familiarize themselves with the key technical details.

incident.io previously raised two rounds of seed capital - an initial $4.7 million deal closed in the summer of 2021 followed by a $5.5 million one secured at the start of 2022.
