Kara Connect to raise $1.3M from The New Business Venture Fund and Swedish investors.
Kara Connect, a Reykjavik, Iceland-based company providing a tele-help health marketplace, announced the completion of ISK 160M ($1.3M) in capital investment.
The funding was backed by new and existing investors, including Nýsköpunarsjóður (The New Business Venture Fund) and Swedish investors Poleved Industrial Performance AB and Skogsliden Finance AB. Following the transaction, Nýsköpunarsjóður will own 10% of the company.
Kara Connect, founded in 2014 by CEO Thorbjörg Helga Vigfúsdóttir, built a communications platform for health professionals providing their services remotely. The platform has 700 professionals who helped about 4300 registered users.
Prior to this investment round. Kara Connect completed a $1.9M investment round from Crowberry Capital and angel investors.
