Triple snaps up Local Guddy from Turkey in a cash and stock deal.

Triple, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company managing a marketplace for local travel experiences, announced the acquisition of the Istanbul, Turkey-based company Local Guddy, which provides a similar service.

The deal is made part cash part stock and has the financial details undisclosed. One of the Local Guddy's founders, Emre Semercioğlu, will join Triple as Head of Market Growth.

Local Guddy, founded in 2016 by Emre Semercioğlu, İhsan Serdaroğlu, and Cihan Bilir, is a P2P travel marketplace platform which connects locals and travelers all around the world. The company was part of Turkish BIC Angels acceleration program, which provided further funding.

Triple was also founded in 2016 by Joakim Grönvall, Sebastian Björkelid and Petri Määttä. The company raised a bit more than half a million dollars (SEK 4.5M) in September 2017 from local angel investors including Lisa Enckell, Andreas Ehn, Jonas Axelsson and Jonathan Forster.
